Terms of Use

1. Publisher and contact

Maya Libri is published by Stefano Fragnière, Geneva, Switzerland. Contact: contact@mayalibri.com.

2. Purpose

These Terms govern the use of the Maya Libri application and its related services.

3. Acceptance

Using Maya Libri means accepting the version of these Terms applicable at the time of use.

4. Local use

The app can be used without an account. Library data then remains on the device.

5. Maya Cloud

Maya Cloud is optional and currently provides manual backup/restore. Automatic multi-device synchronization is not yet active.

6. Cloud account

The cloud account uses an email address and temporary code. Users must maintain access to their email address.

7. User content

Users remain responsible for the data, text, notes, third-party names and photos they add and must hold any necessary rights.

8. Open Library

Bibliographic information may come from Open Library. Maya Libri does not guarantee the accuracy or completeness of data supplied by this external service.

9. Photos and covers

Users are responsible for images they import. Maya Libri may resize, recompress, back up and delete covers according to the functions used.

10. Sharing

Sharing uses the device's native functions. The user chooses the recipient and sharing service.

11. Voluntary support

Contributions through Stripe are voluntary, are not required to use the app and do not create any guaranteed entitlement.

12. Availability and changes

Maya Libri may evolve, be updated, temporarily interrupted or have features changed for technical, security or development reasons.

13. Backup and restore

A Maya Cloud backup may replace the remote backup and a restore may replace the local library after confirmation. Users should verify important data.

14. Security

Maya Libri implements reasonable security measures but cannot guarantee absolute security of any information system.

15. Account deletion

A Maya Cloud account can be deleted in Settings → Cloud account → “Delete my account and data”, with double confirmation. Cloud data and personal covers are deleted; local books remain on the device.

16. Access and export

Automated export is not yet available. Access or export requests may be sent to contact@mayalibri.com.

17. Privacy

Personal data processing is described in the Maya Libri Privacy Policy.

18. Third-party services

Use of Supabase, Resend, Open Library, Infomaniak and Stripe may also be subject to those providers' own terms and policies.

19. Intellectual property

The Maya Libri name, visual identity, texts, visual elements and software are protected to the extent provided by applicable law. Third-party content remains the property of its owners.

20. Fair use

Users must not misuse the service, attempt to access another person's data, disrupt the infrastructure or use Maya Libri for unlawful purposes.

21. Liability

Maya Libri is provided as is. To the extent permitted by law, the publisher is not liable for damage caused by misuse, loss of unsaved data or unavailability of a third-party service.

22. Minors

Maya Libri currently asks for no date of birth. Legal representatives remain responsible for a minor's use where required by law.

23. Changes to these Terms

These Terms may be changed to reflect changes to the service or applicable law. The update date appears in the document.

24. Applicable law and disputes

These Terms are governed by Swiss law, subject to mandatory consumer protections. The parties should first seek an amicable solution before proceedings.
